Working from her studio in Cust, North Canterbury ceramic artist, Penny Belworthy, is inspired by the colour and form of the undulating foothills and distant mountain ranges around her.
Exploring combinations of clays and glazes, Penny recreates colours from a morning’s sunrise or an evening’s sunset. The vibrant blues and purples contrast with the textural elements and natural tones of the clays.
“Every day in my studio makes me grateful for the people who have helped make my dream a reality. It is a constant source of amusement and joy.”
