Shapes by Sal

Sally-Mae Hudson, from Hāwea is a self-taught printmaker, discovering the art form 4 years ago. Sally's appreciation for the great outdoors and the natural environment underpins the majority of her work. It's through her own experiences with the outdoors that her artwork is shaped. What she sees and feels around her when exploring forms the ideas and themes for her pieces. Sally's process for creation is led by the complementary nature of the two pursuits, her artwork inspires and encourages new experiences in the outdoors and those experiences form the basis of further pieces. Her work is as much about inspiring others to protect, explore and appreciate the natural world, as it is her own artistic expression.
