The market first started in May 2011, just after the Christchurch earthquakes. It served as an outlet for many artisans who had lost their regular points of sale, and it allowed the public to shop handmade in one place.

 

Since then, the market has become hugely popular with thousands of people coming to shop for quality handmade items whilst sampling delicious food and refreshments during their shopping experience.

 

Hundreds of stallholders apply to sell their wares at Encraftment. We ensure that a wide selection of crafts and design are represented; and importantly only those with excellent craftmanship and unique products are selected to sell at the market.
